Dungeons & Dragons
The Chasm is a gash marking the southeast quadrant of Neverwinter. It is the direct outcome of the eruption of Mount Hotenow and the earthquake that ensued. After the eruption, the Chasm became a festering pit, vomiting out foul creatures, and the defenders of Neverwinter had to hastily build new fortifications to hold them back. The monsters of the Chasm were madness personified, humanoids with chitinous claws instead of arms, and one-eyed hulks that ran on all fours like hellish dogs.
The Chasm still cuts through the old walls of the city, a wound in the foundation of Neverwinter itself. One of our game’s Adventure Hooks involves trying to make a living for yourself in the midst of the Chasm.
